KAY SEAMAYER "It's never too late to follow your dreams and passions...to live your bliss..and get healthy and strong in order to enjoy the ride!...soooo, get UP...get OUT...and get YOUR MOVE ON!!" K. Seamayer Kay attended McNeese State University on a music scholarship after high school graduation. Then came love and marriage and partnering in a family owned business. During this time, there was no time to pursue a career in music; however, Kay served many years on the board of directors of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, (the only sattelite "league" ever outside Dallas), and the Duncanville Regional Arts Association promoting the arts in her community. Kay co founded, what eventually became, the Mt. View Community College Band in which she played French horn for many years. At 51, children grown and gone and some extra time on her hands, Kay made good on a promise to resume her pursuit of a career in music…and what a career it has been! Kay not only continues to perform regularly on weekends, singing and playing keyboards (a one woman show!) in the Dallas area, she is a nationally known award winning singer/songwriter receiving special recognition and letters of commendation from the White House, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Dallas Songwriters Association, US Military, Heads of State and many community groups. “Let Freedom Ring” is a song Kay wrote just after 9/11. She has had many opportunities to share her message of freedom, liberty and love of country at patriotic and special events across America including multiple years in Philadelphia, July 4, Independence Hall; New York, World Trade Center Memorial; New Orleans, National D-Day Museum; National Cemetery; Martin Luther King Commemoration; National Day of Prayer; and at various Memorial and Veteran’s Day commemorative services in the presence of top military personnel, veterans, governors, supreme court judges, and US and foreign diplomats. Kay is an international recording artist with two CD’s of her original compositions to her credit. She created a publishing company (Let Freedom Ring Publishing ASCA) to distribute her "Let Freedom Ring" arrangements for band, orchestra, choir, solo, piano and hand bell. She began working out in the gym shooting hoops (another one of her passions early on) and began coaching and playing on a senior women’s basketball team. Kay has gone on to win many GOLD MEDALS in Senior Games in both team and individual competition in local, state and Huntsman World Senior Games. She is founder and president of Basketball and Fitness for Senior Women. BFSW teams, including athletes from ages 50 – 92 participate in local, state and national Senior Games and tournament events including Senior Olympics and WNBA, NBA and college tours, playing exhibition halftime games to promote senior sports, fitness and wellness across America. Kay’s 65+ Texas All Stars and 80+ Texas Challenge teams played in the 2007 Senior Olympics and have qualified to participate in the upcoming 2009 Senor Olympics in San Francisco. Kay has had the opportunity to put on 3-point shooting exhibition and speak to hundreds of young athletes at major basketball camps including All American/Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman and WNBA Superstar, Tausha Mills on the subject of "Basketball, A Sport for Life" and the importance of how hard work, discipline and determination can serve them throughout their life. Kay also brought her shooting exhibition and message of "get UP...get OUT..get YOUR MOVE ON!" to the NBA Dallas Mavericks "101 For Women Only" annual event at the Amerian Airlines Center recently. There have been many featured stories written and published about Kay's passion for life and living in major local and national newspapers, magazines and internet sources. (www.basketballandfitnessforseinorwomen.com) At 69, Kay continues to dedicate herself to staying fit and active and involved in promoting issues which she feels are important to everyone through her book, “Get UP…Get OUT…and GET YOUR MOVE ON”, through speaking engagements; through her motivational and workout video, “get FIT…stay STRONG…feel YOUNG… live LONG”; through classes she teaches on the subject and her new inspirational and motivational CD, “Get UP!…Get OUT…and get your MOVE ON”. Kay never misses an opportunity to speak and share her message with others about the joys and importance of living an active life of passion, purpose and courage, whether it’s from the stage or a random encounter between two spirits on the street! **To find out much more about Kay Seamayer, go to: www.kayseamayer.com - www.letfreedomringpublishing.com www.getupgetoutgetyourmoveon.com
